Reflecting back on EGL 102

Rewind time!!! My thoughts and reflection on EGL102 with Professor Brady.

Reflecting back on EGL102, I can say that it was definitely a class that I enjoyed. While in the beginning of the semester I thought that the class might be difficult, I learned that that was not the case. The class was fun and welcoming. I learned a lot in the class, most things I will take away from this class are actually life lessons rather than snippets of english knowledge and I am thankful for that.

This class was a joy to be part of, especially the discussions and fishbowls. I appreciated how we were all able to add into the discussions and fishbowls. Usually whenever a class implements these, they are not very productive and end up being quiet days where the professor has to do much of the discussing with students doing the bare minimum for participation. In this class however, I am glad to say that was not the case, I found it easy to participate and I felt others did as well. We all had valuable additions to discussions and fishbowls and were very productive which made it that much more enjoyable.

I really enjoyed how Professor Brady was able to extract life lessons out of every play and short story we did throughout this semester. Rather than just analyzing and finding themes and writing essays, we related real life things to what we read and found important lessons in both the pieces we read and the fishbowls and discussions, not to mention Professor Brady’s own additions. I am delighted to say that this class was my favorite from this semester and overall in my college experience so far. I would like to wish Professor Brady and Brandon and the rest of the class a great summer. I will be taking the lessons I learned in this class and applying them to mine.
